Some tips to accelerate the performance of windows

Accelerate and Facilitate Scrolling in Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer.
There are times when we're busy looking for data on our computers, we use the Windows Explorer. But on the sidelines of our preoccupation to browse the folders for the folder by using Windows Explorer, scrolling facilities that exist in Windows Explorer have stalled and so heavy and slow, making it difficult to scroll the screen downward. These symptoms can also we encounter when we're busy surfing the Internet using Internet Explorer browser. Facilities at scrolling in Internet Explorer may also one day have jammed, heavy and slow, as seen in Windows Explorer. Of course we will feel very irritated and annoyed that our work is to be hampered by the slow performance of the heavy and slow scrolling. Microsoft calls the symptoms jammed in this scrolling facilities as "smooth scrolling". But this can be solved easily if we install an additional utility called Tweak UI that can be easily downloaded from the following website address:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
Once downloaded and installed on our computers, then we can use Tweak UI to cope with the traffic jams and slow scrolling this way is by clicking on the Explorer Category on the left side window, and then on the right side you please remove the check mark on option "Enable Smooth Scrolling", then please click the "Apply", then click "OK".

Eliminating Unread Message Display on the Windows Welcome Screen If your computer is connected to the Internet network, each time we receive e-mails, usually will appear a notice of appearance on the Welcome Screen of Windows when we just turn on the computer. But one day we met Message Unread messages are displayed on the Welcome Screen of Windows but when we open the e-mail was not a single new letter that we have not read. Whether the message is a fake message or Windows we have already begun to go wrong? Actually this can we overcome with a little work especial Windows registry. How, type regedit in the Run. Then after the registry editor window appears, then go on
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ UnreadMail.
On the right side double click on MessageExpiryDays value and if the value does not yet exist, we can make it by Edit> New> DWORD Value and type the new DWORD value MessageExpiryDays on the newly created earlier. Then in the edit on the DWORD value and type the value 0, then click OK.

For those of us quite busy, sometimes often feel impatient because he felt the slow performance of Windows on our computers, but our work has been piling up waiting to be done soon because the deadline is very limited. Windows with fast performance is often a dream for students, as well as office workers. Thus the following are some tips on how we can accelerate the performance of windows that may think we are so slow.

On the Start menu, click Run, then type regedit. Once the registry editor page appears, then do a few changes:

• HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ MenuShowDelay. Change the default values that appear on the right side of the window from 400 to 0 value. This change is intended to accelerate the emergence of the view menu list that appears when we select the start menu.
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager \ Memory Management \ DisablePagingExecutive. Change the value of which is from 1 to 0. This change is intended to put the kernel in RAM and negate windows virtual memory. Please note that this trick should only be done if the RAM memory card installed in your computer is more than 512 MB. We do not recommend doing this trick when a memory card installed in your computer is less than 512 MB.
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager \ Memory Management \ PrefetchParameters \ EnablePrefetcher.
Change the existing value to 0 if you want to exclude the contents of the prefetch folder in the Windows folder on drive "system" of your computer. There are three options that can be done, it's up to you. You can modify the existing value to 1 if you want to create a prefetch files from various applications installed on your computer (like cache to speed up launch an application when the computer has just turned on). Change the existing value to 2 to speed up the booting process. Or modify the existing value to 3 to accelerate access to all files in the computer. If your computer is so slow, maybe it's time you empty the contents of the folder "prefetch" in the Windows folder on drive "system" of your computer. How, go to drive "system" (usually located on drive C), then go to the Windows folder, look inside the folder called Prefetch. Get inside that folder, then you will find so many prefetch files. Remove all contents of this prefetch folder (remember, do not delete the Prefetch folder, simply delete the contents only!). After that exit, and restart your computer. After your computer starts, perform disk clean up on the drive "system" (drive C), then restart your computer and its performance will usually be faster than before.
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ FileSystem \ NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation. Change the existing value to 1. This change is intended to disable 8.3 Name Creation in NTFS (some files that use the 8.3 Naming Convention can degrade the performance of drives that use the NTFS format.) By disabling the Naming Convention or Name Creation is believed to improve the performance of our computer.
• Do the defrag on boot. How to outsmart the registry, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Dfrg \ BootOptimizeFunction. Perform editing and change the Enable string value to Y. Then exit the registry editor and restart the computer. After that then your computer will work faster.
Some other things you can do in an effort to accelerate the performance of Windows and also securing Windows from the danger of error or slow Windows because of accumulated junk files, among others:

• Check the Recycle Bin (trash your computer.) Click image kosongkanlah Recycle Bin icon and its contents by pressing Ctrl + A (blocks all junk files that exist in the Recycle Bin), then press Shift + Delete. So all the garbage that is in the Recycle Bin will be deleted. Can also slow performance caused by existing garbage piled in the Recycle Bin on your computer. When you allocate a large amount of space for the Recycle Bin and you rarely empty the Recycle Bin waste basket, this can cause a slow computer performance. We recommend that you arrange for the allocation of space for the Recycle Bin to be at 3% or less, so that more hard disk space that can be used for other things more useful.
• Delete the contents of the folder "Cookies" and "Temporary Internet Files" with how to enable internet explorer, go to Tools menu> Internet Options> General> Delete Cookies and also do the same to Tools> Internet Options> General> Delete Files.
• Empty Folder C: \ TEMP and C: \ Windows \ TEMP. It would also be useful to accelerate the performance of Windows.
• Turn off System Restore facility, do disk clean up, and also the defrag, then restart your computer. After that restart System Restore facility and create a new restore point. Restore points are too much to meet the hard disk usually take a lot of places on your hard disk, especially if you have never reset the percentage of space allocated to System Restore on your computer. When the capacity of your hard disk is big enough (tens of gigabytes) should allocate enough space allocated to System Restore 3% or less. At least once a month, delete the old restore points stored on your hard disk, and make new ones.
• Start Up Check on your computer, the amount of software that is activated at start-ups or working in the back ground will also affect how quickly your computer's performance.
• Right click on My Computer, select Properties, then select the Advanced tab, then click Settings in the Performance section, then select "Adjust for best performance" or choose Custom and set yourself a variety of securities you wish to use or not by selecting a check mark or not select it. Perform an experiment where the best effect on the performance of your computer.
• If you include people who are lazy enough to perform maintenance or maintenance of Windows and software that is installed on your computer, you can install the software Deep Freeze. We recommend that before installing Deep Freeze, you should clean up all junk files (such as files that have a temp, bak, and the old as well as spyware and adware that meet your computer. You can use a variety of utility software for cleaning), empty the Prefetch folder contents, clean up old restore points, do disk clean up, clean up trash and defrag registry registry (by using utility software such as "Tune Up Utilities 2006" or "Registry Mechanics" or other utility software), then you do the defrag your hard disk, and
last restart your computer. After your computer back to life, then you can install the software Deep Freeze. Then restart again after Deep Freeze is installed. After the computer back to life, from now on you will not need to bother to do maintenance on Windows and also software that is installed in it. With Deep Freeze installed the computer at least you will avoid the risk of a virus (though there is also a vicious virus that can still penetrate the protection Deep Freeze).
So a few tips that can be done to accelerate the performance of Windows.
